OUR WORK IN ISRAEL

Strengthening the Center (Israel)

הַדֶּרֶךְ הַיְשָׁרָה הִיא מִדָּה בֵּינוֹנִית

וְדֶרֶךְ זוֹ הִיא דֶּרֶךְ הַחֲכָמִים….

“The right way is the middle course…This is the path of the wise.”
– Maimonides, Mishneh Torah, Hilchot De’ot 1:4

Political polarization breeds extremism that weakens society, while moderation and compromise build resilience. Maimonides Fund aims to strengthen moderate voices within Israeli society, reduce polarization across diverse communities, and reinforces the social bonds that create collective belonging.

Our work in this field spans three strategic areas, supporting organizations and initiatives that:

  1. Amplify the voices of Israel’s moderate majority, fostering connections across diverse groups and building consensus on critical national issues.
  2. Strengthen Israel-Diaspora bonds through programs that deepen Israeli understanding of global Jewry, emphasizing shared heritage and values while respecting the diversity within the Jewish people.
  3. Strengthen moderate voices within Religious Zionism, including the promotion of accessible, fair, and respectful religious services for all Israeli Jews, and the promotion of religious women’s participation in the IDF.
  4. Empower moderate Religious Zionist voices, promoting inclusive religious services for all Israeli Jews and advancing religious women’s participation in the IDF
