OUR WORK IN ISRAEL

Gifted Youth

Israel’s most valuable resource is its human capital. We invest in gifted and talented students, enabling them to become trailblazers and leaders in the fields of science, technology, industry and Israeli society, and to tackle the major challenges facing Israel and the world.

Our Future Scientists Center for the Advancement of the Gifted and Talented, in collaboration with the Israel’s Ministry of Education, operates a range of programs for 7th-12th graders at universities across Israel, with over 2,000 participating students each year.

Odyssey

Odyssey is a challenging four-year academic coursework program in the sciences, conducted alongside students’ regular high school commitments. Exceptionally talented students earn academic credits in a range of subjects, such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer sciences and artificial intelligence.

Alpha and Idea

Alpha and Idea give high school students the opportunity to conduct independent research projects under academic supervision – Alpha in life and natural sciences, including computer science and mathematics, and Idea in the social sciences and humanities. Both programs are operated at universities across Israel and enable students to acquire advanced knowledge, develop skills required for conducting independent academic-level research, and become part of leading research teams.

Israel’s Science Teams

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Future Scientists Center trains Israel’s National Science Teams for participation in the International Science Olympiads. Israel operates five senior teams in the fields of mathematics, informatics, biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as a junior science team that serves as a feeder for the senior teams.

Jumpstart Program for Girls

Jumpstart provides outstanding middle-school female students with an opportunity to strengthen and expand their knowledge and skills in hard sciences. The program emphasizes experiential and hands-on learning, with a strong focus on the social and group aspects of rigorous scientific studies.

Jumpstart Program for Arabic Speakers

Jumpstart for Arabic Speakers offers gifted middle-school Arabic speakers an opportunity to advance their knowledge and understanding in the fields of science and mathematics, to improve their Hebrew proficiency, and to strengthen students’ sense of self-efficacy.

Ascola

Through Ascola, the alumni network of the Future Scientists Center, we provide a professional and social framework for graduates of all of our programs. The network connects, supports, and develops alumni as they progress through their military, academic, and professional careers.
